Edinburgh City Breaks

Scotland's capital is one of the most beautiful locations in the world. The hills and surrounding seas make for a beautiful landscape. With streets steeped in history and a thriving cultural scene, Edinburgh offers the perfect balance between all things traditional and contemporary. The features which have made Edinburgh famous - exquisite architecture, the dramatic thoroughfare of Prince's Street, the brooding castle in the sky or the renowned Royal Botanic Garden mean that your trip to Edinburgh will be unforgettable. Edinburgh’s equivalent of Temple Bar is the Grassmarket and Cowgate area while Broughton Street is the main gay area in the city.

Edinburgh’s dining options are extremely varied but if we had to pick three to recommend it would definitely be Oloroso Bar & Restaurant. Le Sept and the Witchery. Make sure to check if a reservation is necessary or not!

There are many different places to go for a few drinks in Edinburgh, but Bar Kohl, The Malt Shovel and The Halfway House are by far some of our favourites. Make sure to visit a few of them, just to see which suits your tastes best!

Princes Street is the main shopping section in Edinburgh where you can find the main department stores. George Street is for the fashionistas, as it’s lined with chic clothes shops while the Royal Mile has everything from traditional Scottish woollen sweaters to woollen belly-button warmers, so you’re guaranteed that there will be something there for your tastes.

When in Edinburgh...

Make sure to visit Edinburgh Castle, as it’s an amazing landmark. Don’t forget to try out the local cuisine (Haggis is much better than it sounds) and to pay a visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens.
